Booking Terms & Conditions
Mid-term Adventure Club
Lorne Estate Outdoor Adventure Centre ('The Centre')
By making a booking, the parent or legal guardian agrees to the following Terms & Conditions on behalf of the child.
- Eligibility & Participation
- The Mid-term Adventure Club is open to children aged 7 to 11.
- Children must be able to participate safely in outdoor and adventure activities within a group environment.
- The Centre reserves the right to refuse or terminate participation if a child’s behaviour or needs present a risk to themselves, other participants, or staff.
- Booking & Payment
- All bookings must be made in advance via www.discoverlorne.org.uk/holidayclubs
- Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure a place unless otherwise stated.
- Bookings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability.
- Cancellations & Refunds
- Cancellations made within 2 weeks of the start date are non-refundable.
- No refunds will be given for non-attendance, illness, late arrival, or early collection.
- If the Adventure Club is cancelled by The Centre, a full refund will be provided.
- Weather & Programme Changes
- Activities that take place outdoors will proceed in most weather conditions.
- The Centre reserves the right to modify, substitute, or cancel activities due to weather, safety considerations, or other unforeseen circumstances.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring children arrive with appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor activities, including waterproofs, warm layers, sun protection, and spare clothes.
- Health, Medical & Additional Needs
- All medical conditions, allergies, dietary requirements, and additional support needs must be disclosed at the time of booking.
- Any medication must be clearly labelled and provided with written administration instructions.
- In the event of illness or injury, staff may administer basic first aid and, if necessary, seek emergency medical assistance.
- Parents/guardians agree to be contactable during programme hours.
- Safety & Supervision
- The Centre operates in accordance with relevant UK and Northern Ireland health and safety legislation, and hold Adventuremark accreditation.
- All activities are risk assessed and led by suitably trained and qualified staff.
- Children must follow staff instructions at all times.
- Ongoing unsafe or disruptive behaviour may result in a child being withdrawn from activities. No refund will be issued in such circumstances.
- Smoking/vaping is not permitted inside any building and only in designated areas outside.
- Dogs are not permitted onsite, with the exception of assistance dogs.
- Drop-off & Collection
- Children must be dropped off and collected at the specified times and locations.
- Late collection may incur an additional charge.
- Safeguarding
- The Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- All staff working with children are appropriately vetted and trained in safeguarding procedures.
- Any safeguarding concerns will be managed in line with The Centre’s Safeguarding Policy and relevant Northern Ireland guidance.
- Personal Belongings
- Children are responsible for their own belongings.
- The Centre accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal items.
- Valuables, including electronic devices, should not be brought to the Adventure Club.
- Photography & Media
- Photographs or videos may be taken during activities for promotional, training, or record purposes.
- Media consent preferences must be indicated during the booking process.
- Statement of assumed risk
The participant’s parent/guardian:
- confirms understanding that the activity involves specific inherent hazards that can cause injury, disability, or death.
- declares that their participation is voluntary and they choose to participate despite the known risks.
- agrees to waive, release, and discharge the activity provider from liability for injury or damage.
- takes full responsibility for their own actions, health, and safety, including ensuring they have sufficient skill and fitness to participate.
- agrees to indemnify (pay for costs and legal fees) the provider if a lawsuit is brought against them.
- gives consent for emergency first aid or medical care if needed and agrees to bear the costs of such treatment or transportation.
- Acceptance of Terms
- By completing a booking, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and consent to the child’s participation in adventure club activities.
